After much deliberation, we have decided to close Journior. This was not an easy decision, but a necessary one. We're grateful to every reader, writer, and contributor who walked part of this road with us.

Why we're stopping

• We were unable to secure funding, and the ongoing infrastructure costs (around €200 per month) made it impossible to continue.
• User adoption and active engagement did not grow as we had hoped.
• We were not able to gather the qualified, target-persona feedback we needed to refine the product.

What happens to your data

• All servers will be shut down and the data on them destroyed.
• Our managed database on DigitalOcean will be stopped and removed, leaving no customer data behind.
• All customer device associations will be removed, and the Firebase application will be deleted.
• All multimedia stored in AWS S3 — including profile photos and article images — will be deleted.
• Only the textual archive of news article collections will be retained.
